LMW Fertilizers Benefits

LMW Benefits

The core of the Carbotecnia range of products is Low Molecular Weight Carboxylic Acids (L.M.W.)

Yield increasing, marketable organ quality and environmental friendliness, are the immediate effects after using these organic molecules.

Why Carboxylic Acids?

Carboxylic Acids are synthetized in a natural way, by plants. The effects produced by Carbotecnia’s L.M.W. Carboxylic Acids, are similar to those that in a naturall way, are carrying out by the plant physiology.

They are powerful complexing agents, providing a better use of the elements which are joined with, that when these elements are applied as an inorganic salt, or are joined with other complexing agents.

The main advantages of fertilizers based on low molecular weight carboxylic acids (organic) are higher fruit quality, higher yield and enhanced mobility of nutrients into de plant.

Advantages of fertilizers based on low molecular weight carboxylic acids (organic): higher quality of the fruit, higher yield of harvest, transport of nutrients in the plant.

Why Low Molecular Weigh (L.M.W.)?

Organic acids have large differences in both, their size and their ability to form assimilable complexes by plants. Depending on their chemical characteristics and their molecular size we can represent them as follows:

Low molecular weight carboxylic acids:

  • Defined composition, high purity substances.
  • High complexing effect.
  • Strong absorption and traslocation into the plant.
  • Low molecular weight molecules.

Greater effectiveness by percentage of nutrient compared to other complexants

Polyhydroxycarboxylic acids:

  • Undefined composition, low purity substances.
  • Low complexing effect.
  • They are industrial by-products, so it can contain a high percentage of heavy metals.
  • Molecules with high molecular weight.

Humic acids:

  • Heterogeneous composition, low purity substances.
  • Low complexing effect.
  • Weaker absorption and translocation into the plant.
  • Molecules with high molecular weight.

Lignosulphonic (fulvic) acids:

  • Heterogeneous composition.
  • Surfactant power in soils.
  • Low complexity.
  • Weaker absorption and translocation in the plant.
  • Molecules with high molecular weight.

Aminoacids:

  • Heterogeneous composition.
  • They are transported slowly.
  • They have difficulties passing through cell walls.
  • Useful only at certain crop stages.
  • Molecules with medium molecular weight.

L.M.W. Carboxylic Acids significantly increase the ability to complex nutrients (Ca + 2, Mg + 2, Fe  +2, etc.), favoring its transport in and out of the plant, and its assimilation.

They increase the plant osmotic pressure, increasing the water flow and transporting nutrients and photo-assimilates (sugars) to the vegetable organs that require it.

L.M.W. Carboxylic Acids promote the acid pH of the nutrient solution naturally. They don't increase its aggressiveness and don't add elements that may disrupt the desired balance of the fertilizer solution.

This kind of organic acids are very little or not ionized, they don't have ionic charge and can penetrate or be absorbed by the plant without any constraint.

How do B.P.M. carboxylic acids operate?

These organic acids have a double function; they act as COMPLEXING AGENTS of the element or elements that carry with them, and they set up together a TECH-NUTRIENT with a specific effect inside the plant.

  • Complexing agent: L.M.W Carboxylic Acids form stable complexes in the nutrient solution and the culture medium, favoring the complete assimilation by the plant without leaving chemical residues or producing phytotoxicity or damage in the plant surfaces.
  • Tecn-Nutrient: Once inside the plant, L.M.W Carboxylic Acids take action in the internal transport (translocation) of the nutritious chemical elements to parts of the plant where they are needed. They act as transporters and metabolic intermediaries of complex biological reactions that need these organic acids for its natural development.

The high-tech CARBOTECNIA fertilizers are designed to enhance the activity of the plant by optimizing parameters such as:

  • Production.
  • External and internal fruit quality.
  • Aerial or root growth.
  • Adapting conditions of the crop to unfavorable mediums (soil or environmental).
  • They are specially formulated for plant’s nutrition by leaf application.

LMW benefit in the soil

  • Against soils salinity and alkalinity, especially in the root area. They reduce the dispersing effect of sodium.
  • Conditioner effect as a  structure improver, increasing water and air permeability.
  • A complexing effect promoting the quick formation of complexes with cations such as calcium, magnesium or iron. These complexes favor the absorption by the plant through mass flow.

  • Transporter effect, improving the transport of Magnesium, Iron, Potassium, Zinc and other cations, producing an increase on the useful salts absorbed by the root, the osmotic pressure and therefore a higher water flow and transport of assimilated molecules to the leaves.

  • Solubilize and make assimilable calcium and other nutrients in the soil.

  • Reduce nutrient leaching.
  • Immediate and lasting availability of the nutrient, avoiding blockages in the soil.

  • They are natural complexes that plants recognize in nutritional assimilation.

  • The adaptation of the rhizosphere to achieve favourable conditions for an effective absorption.

  • Soil pH regulators near the roots.

  • Zero phytotoxicity. Zero waste.

  • They favor the adaptation of the vegetable to unfavorable environments (saline soils, saline-alkali, etc.).

LMW Benefits in the plant

  • They increase fruit quality in colour, flavour and post-harvest life.

  • They improve the yield (t/ha) and the quality of the harvest because it homogenizes ripening of the plantation.

  • Introduce nutrients within the plant, in a way that is 100% efficient and fast. This process is optimal in case of Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, Mo and B deficiencies with evident symptoms.

  • They are an excellent nutrient translocation process at the foliar application, especially in critical phenological stages.

  • They are natural components in plants, so they are harmless to tissues and do not involve any stress or extra effort to be metabolized.

  • They increase the photosynthetic activity of chloroplasts and maintain it in unfavourable conditions.

  • They are intermediaries in the synthesis of certain compounds in the plant.

  • They play a significant role in nitrogen metabolism.

  • Improve the formation of plant tissue. They increase the efficient leaf surface.

  • They improve and strengthen natural defense system of the plant; they favour the correct formation of the plant tissues.

  • They promote carbohydrates mobilization to the organs in need, especially fruits.

  • They decrease the ageing time (senescence) of tissues.
